Learn how to use the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method in higher education to create more active participation, explore complex topics and strengthen collaboration.

This 2-day live online certification gives you the skills and tools to design and facilitate LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® sessions in your own educational setting.

What can you do after the certification?

After completing the certification, you will be ready to use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® with students, colleagues and teams.

You can use the method to:

• Engage students and create more active participation
• Explore complex or abstract topics in a practical and visual way
• Include every voice in discussions and group work
• Build shared understanding across different perspectives
• Strengthen collaboration among students or colleagues
• Explore challenges and new ideas within your course, department or institution

You can use the method for both short exercises and longer facilitated sessions, online or face-to-face.

• Understand the principles behind the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method
• Facilitate the core LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® process
• Ask effective questions and guide reflection
• Design exercises for different learning and facilitation purposes
• Adapt sessions to your own educational context
• Facilitate LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® both online and face-to-face

No previous experience with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is required.

Your instructors

Marc Sonnaert

Marc Sonnaert is an experienced LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator and trainer associated with Inthrface. He was certified at Hotel LEGOLAND® in Billund in 2015 and has since worked extensively with the method, including training new facilitators together with Inthrface CEO Micael Buckle.

Professor Alison James

Professor Alison James is an internationally recognised expert in playful and creative approaches to learning in higher education. She has been a certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator since 2013 and has extensive experience using the method within higher education and organisational development.
